This is an excellent interview. I will listen again and I am eagerly awaiting follow-up interviews. I am seeking wisdom in this realm as I take cautious steps toward writing fiction again. A passing comment about the dangers of imagination made by a church member 10 years ago still makes it difficult for me to write. But, especially as a mother, I see the necessity of more excellent fiction, particularly fantasy or “spiritual historical fiction” that is aligned toward Truth.

Deacon Nicholas, thank you so much for engaging in this conversation. It is very much needed!

"The act of creation, whether or not it is directed towards liturgical art, is in itself, liturgical." <3 Loved this! Thank you so much!

Will do! I have a story underway and my alarm (cat) set for a hour before my kids get up.

Jesus spoke in parables, so speaking of divine things allegorically, it would seem, is acceptable. But there is danger in conveying erroneous ideas. The artist's responsibility to communicate truth rather than error is a daunting responsibility.
